Kephalin
Ke|pha|lin [griech. kephale̅̓ = Kopf; ↑ -in (3)], das; -s, -e: Sammelbez. für bes. in Hirn- u. Nervengewebe anzutreffende, mit ↑ Lecithin eng verwandte ↑ Phospholipide aus Fettsäuren, Glycerin, Phosphorsäure u. Aminoalkoholen wie 2-Aminoethanol (Phosphatidylethanolamin, Colaminkephaline, K. im engeren Sinne) oder Serin (Phosphatidylserin, Serinkephaline). Durch in Tiergiften vorhandene Phospholipasen werden die K. in hämolytisch wirksame Lysokephaline gespalten.
